Despite its difficulties, Orly airport is continuing to modernise. In December 2020, the first phase of the RPDI project (Redesign of the International Departures Process) was completed with the inauguration of a new 27,000 m2 building extending Orly 4 towards the aeronautical areas. This building includes a 2,700 m2 boarding lounge able to accommodate three medium and one large aircraft, as well as a new shopping area called “La Rue Parisienne”.
